The past two days Kearney County hosted their community cleanup in Minden. The city collected 60 tons of garbage.
Someone even got rid of their 16-foot boat. Other items thrown away were bicycles, washing machines and grills.
“It’s just normal everyday stuff people don’t have the means to get rid of it and this is a chance to clean out garages and sheds and make useful space,” said Joe Anderson.
Some of the works turned someone’s garbage in to treasures. A couple took home some golf clubs and golf balls.
