Five people were arrested over the weekend in Hall County as part of a special enforcement effort conducted by the Nebraska State Patrol.
The agency says five drivers were arrested for driving while intoxicated during the enforcement that included a DUI checkpoint and high visibility patrols across the county. The enforcement designed to reduced the potential for alcohol-related accidents took place from the early evening hours on Saturday, May 17 into the early morning hours on Sunday, May 18.
In addition to the DWI arrests, 15 others were issued citations or warnings for speeding, three were issued for driving under suspension and/or seat belt violations and four for driving without a license.
A grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety helped pay for the special enforcement effort.
