People are being reminded to fly their flags at half-staff on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
“Our flags will fly at half-staff to honor the courage and dedication of those who have sacrificed for our freedom," said Gov. Dave Heineman. "Memorial Day is a day to remember and to recognize the brave men and women of the United States armed forces who have served and who are currently serving. We appreciate their service to our country.”
According to vfw.org, the flag should only fly at half-staff until noon on Monday and should be raised following that time.
