Fort Kearny -
Veterans long-gone are being remembered at Fort Kearny this Memorial Day weekend.
Reenactors are showing visitors what it was like to fight in the Civil War.
They've been camped out since Friday.
Though they're wet from rain, they say it's worth it to show the conditions some soldiers lived under.
"That's what we're all out here doing is trying to bring the history back, put a remembrance in people's minds of what people had to go through in the 1800s to survive," said reenactor Terry Hendrichson, who portrays a lieutenant colonel serving in C Battery, 3rd U.S. Artillery.
Demonstrations continue Memorial Day.
If you want to see the skirmish, complete with cannon fire, that starts at 2 p.m.
