Posted: Updated:
Three tornadoes touched down in Nebraska as part of Tuesday's storms, according to the National Weather Service in Hastings.

The weather service released preliminary information Thursday reporting at least three tornadoes briefly touched down in eastern Nebraska near Elyria, Greeley and near Hampton.

The tornadoes near Elyria and Greeley have both been classified as EF-0. They each occurred in the late afternoon Tuesday and were witnessed by storm spotters.

The tornado near Hampton has been classified as an EF-1. The weather service says it struck around 10:30 p.m., and was not able to be seen in the dark.

The thunderstorms stretched across much of the state and included damaging wind gusts of 60-80 MPH and golf ball size hail.

NWS says though considerable damage was done, no injuries were reported within the Hastings coverage area.
