A family wanted "something special for those who call Kearney home", so on Saturday, the community comes out to celebrate all that Yanney heritage park has to offer.
From line dancing to fishing and all things family, Heritage Days is being celebrated.
The event started in 2005 to kick off the summer, recognize new park additions and donors.
Officials say it's become a highly popular event over the years.
"I do think this event is a staple in the area, especially, just because everyone has been coming out, obviously it's word of mouth.," said KPR Recreation Superintendent Jade Meads. "All the great things that are going on, people are like 'oh, what is that I want to check it out'."
Heritage Days continues all day long with free events including live performances and fireworks around 10 p.m.
