This week we salute a fallen veteran: Staff Sergeant Albert "Harold" Edgett, who served in the Air Force during WWII.
Harold was born July 31, 1915 and was raised in McDonald Kansas.
He joined the Air Force in 1942 as part of the 734 Bombardment Squadron 432nd group.
He was a tail gunner in WWII. After his first plane made a crash landing, he received a new plane and made eight missions. His final flight went down on March 6, 1944 in the Zuiderzee. He was buried in Holland.
Harold was awarded the victory medal and the purple heart for his actions.
He was nominated by his sister Joan Vontz of Benkelman.
