Expands robust intellectual property portfolio to advance the accuracy and potential for next-generation applications of performance biometric data sensors for wearables
RALEIGH, N.C., June 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Valencell, a leader in performance biometric data sensor technology, has been granted two new patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patents relate to the accuracy for next-generation performance biometric data sensors. These new patents bring the Company's robust portfolio of critical patents on their unique optomechanical approach to biometric measurements for any form factor, including the ear, arm, and wrist, to 14. In addition, the Company has more than 45 patents pending.

U.S. Pat. No. 8,702,607, "Targeted advertising systems and methods," issued April 22nd, 2014 relates to systems and methods for monitoring various physiological and environmental factors with wearable devices and presenting advertisements based on health assessments. This patented technology enables the ability to provide ads to people who may not even be aware that they are at a health risk.
U.S. Pat. No. 8,700,111, "Light-guiding devices and monitoring devices incorporating same," issued April 15th, 2014 relates to monitoring devices comprised of light guides embedded within earbuds. This patented technology enables accurate optical monitoring of biometric information even during intense exercise.
