The college years remain a pivotal point in a consumers life its a time when a lot of lifelong consumer behavior and purchase patterns are being initiated and ingrained, said Derek S. The data has been weighted to reflect the composition of the college student population aged 18-34. Because the sample is based on those who agreed to participate, no estimates of theoretical sampling error can be calculated. With probability samples of this size, one can say with 95 percent certainty that the overall results have a sampling error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points of what they would be if the entire U.S. college student population had been polled. This was not a probability sample.
