Victoria M. Curran is recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of the Year for her outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession.

Garden City, NY (PRWEB) June 26, 2014

NAPW honors Victoria M. Curran, CEO of Partners for Community Growth, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Curran is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in her field. As the largest, most-recognized organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.

Not many people can say that they have been in three car crashes within 14 months, but that is exactly what happened to Victoria Curran several years ago - all caused by someone driving under the influence. Ms. Curran felt that somehow she was being called to a higher purpose so she became a Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) volunteer, eventually serving in several leadership capacities at the local, state and national levels.

"Anyone serving in this field has a heart for it, says Ms. Curran, who was formerly employed by United Way. While there, she assisted Somerset officials with intervention efforts in the aftermath of the September 11th tragedy and served as Director of Family Services for the First Memorial Anniversary for over 550 family members affected by the United Airlines Flight 93 tragedy. Ms. Curran considers serving others a privilege.

As CEO of Partners for Community Growth, Ms. Curran is working to empower individuals through school drop-out prevention programs, homeless veterans' assistance, and senior citizens' programs. Over the past year, Ms. Curran raised over $1.5M in funding in partnership with various organizations.
