National Association of Professional Women honors Susan Troendle as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in the military. As the largest organization of women in the country, the National Association of Professional Women is a vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and more than 300 Local Chapters.

My skills and areas of expertise include education and training, says Susan Troendle, Chief of Training Development Division, EOD Directorate, U.S. Army Ordnance School.

Ms. Troendle, a Desert Shield/Storm veteran, has held key positions at military training schools for over 16 years. In her current role, she works to provide the best training and instruction possible by effectively communicating with command and leadership, ensuring they are up-to-date and relevant on the latest methods and techniques. Ms. Troendle uses her organizational skills, along with her vast array of knowledge when it comes to military education and training, to ensure the Ordnance branch of the Army is well-trained and always prepared.

Ms. Troendle also supports her community by volunteering with the Appomattox Regional Library System Hopewell Branch in the Friends of the Library Bookstore where she continues to share her love of reading and fostering lifelong learning.

In recognition of her dedication to her country Ms. Troendle has received numerous awards including a coin from the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, General Dick Cody; a coin from the Under Secretary of the Army, Honorable Joseph W. Westphal and a Game Changer coin from SCoE/CASCOM Commander, Major General Larry D. Wyche, as well as an Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharpe; a Superior Civilian Service Award; 3 Commanders Award for Civilian Service; a Bronze award for Outstanding Supervisor from the Baltimore Federal Executive Board; Women of the Year from the Federal Women's Program, Redstone Arsenal; Army Commendation Medal; Army Achievement Medal; Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Southwest Asia with 3 bronze stars and spearhead; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia); and the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait).
