Horse Show Kicks Off Hall County Fair Events

Grand Island, NE -  Organizers said more riders are participating in Hall County's Open Class Horse Show.

It kicked off events for the county fair on Sunday.

Around 130 horses are expected to compete.

Their riders are all ages and compete in events like halter, English and speed.

Long-time participants say horse families in the area are growing, which impacts the show.

"It's grown because people like to get together. They love their horses. Everybody loves their horses and this is a good, Hall County puts on a good Hall County Open Horse Show," said Don Shuda.

His family has been showing for decades at the event.

“This is one of the largest shows they've had,” he said of this year.

Hall County 4-H horse competitions start Monday. The carnival kicks off on Wednesday.
