Extra law enforcement officers will be out and about in Kearney Friday and Saturday as lots of people hit the town for Kearney Cruise Nite.
The Nebraska State Patrol will be joining the Kearney Police Department and Buffalo County Sheriff's Office for the "Drive to Save Lives" special enforcement effort. Officers will be conducting high visibility patrols and DUI checkpoints throughout the evening and early morning hours on Friday and Saturday, July 18-19.
“This is a big event and we want everyone to enjoy themselves,” said Captain Chris Kolb, NSP commander. “We hope by making ourselves visible and available participants will choose to be safe and voluntarily comply with all traffic safety laws.”
Kearney Cruise Nite draws hundreds of classic car enthusiasts to the area for many events planned over several days.
