Volunteers Still Accepted in Pilger for Tornado Clean Up

Posted: Updated:

There are still opportunities available to help residents of Pilger and surrounding communities, where tornadoes and severe storms caused wide-spread damage.

The village of Pilger will still be accepting a few walk-in volunteers over the next few weeks, with the exception of Sundays when no volunteers will be accepted.

Heavy equipment such as excavators, bobcats and dump trucks are needed as well. Anyone with equipment to assist in the cleanup effort should contact the help line at 402.468.8005.

Volunteers for tornado cleanup in Dixon or Wayne counties should call 211 to learn where help is still needed.

All the work still to be done is not stopping the village of Pilger from holding Pilger Days. The event starts Friday, July 18 and runs through Sunday, July 20 with the dance taking place on the baseball field Saturday night at 7 p.m.
