School's out, and now the kids are bored. But before you send them to clean the bathroom, you may want to check out this week's One Tank Trip. Not only can this week's One Tank Trip cure kids of their summer boredom, it can redeem parents as well, if they roll into Skate Island. Kids can dance the Macarena, or just dance to the beat of their own drum at Skate Island.
"We are the funnest place in Grand Island," said Wayne Quandt, the Manager of Skate Island.
Skating gets the kids off the couch and in the rink, spending that endless summer energy.
"I love it here, I can just chill with my friends instead of being at home doing nothing," said Destiny Utter, an elementary school skater.
Forgot how to skate? Don't worry it'll come back.
"It's like riding a bike, you never forget how to do it," said Quandt.
But you might want to bring some padding, because it might take a while to get your skate legs. While you're there, don't miss out on a hole in one. An outdoor putt-putt golf course awaits the aspiring Tiger Woods. It's cheap and located on Webb Road in Grand Island, so you don't have to shell out for gas.

Skate Island is open from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Friday nights they are open from 7 to 11:30. They also rent out the place for birthdays and special occasions.
