Good Morning Nebraska Anchor
Marylyn enjoys waking viewers up in the morning, informing them with the news of the day, and giving people something to smile about. For the last eight years, Marylyn Barnett has been a journalist covering Central Nebraska and Northwest Kansas. She is the morning news anchor on Good Morning Nebraska and NTV News at Noon. Working here is an opportunity for her to pursue the career of her dreams and still feel right at home.
She's a true farmer's daughter, growing up on a small farm in Northwest Kansas. In high school she participated in every sport she could, as well as 4-H and FFA. On a volleyball scholarship, she attended Hastings College majoring in media production and public relations. An internship through a Wichita KS station (KSN) helped her decide to be a TV Reporter. After two years at NTV as a reporter, she started anchoring and producing Good Morning Nebraska and NTV News at Noon.
She said "I do" to Tyler in 2009, and they live in Kearney. Her favorite thing to do is weight-training and running with her husband, being a public speaker, and spending time with family and friends. She has one brother in Wichita, and a retired barrel racing horse back on the farm. Her other love is her job. To her, it's more than just being a face on TV. She thinks presenting the local news, weather, events, and showing what great people there are in Nebraska is vital to keep communities safe and moving forward. She hopes her words have helped make a difference in the lives around her.
