First Alert Meteorologist
Tim Reith was born in Concordia, KS. Tim graduated from Linn High School. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science.
Tim cites his fascination with the weather at a young age. His joy for working with people around him is a key reason for becoming a broadcast meteorologist.
Tim couldn't resist joining the First Alert weather team because he grew up watching Bob Geiger forecast the weather. According to Tim, "He (Geiger) was an icon as far as weather goes."
Tim worked as a part-time and weekend meteorologist for Channel 6 News in Lawrence, KS from 2004-2005. He joined NTV in January 2006 as the Good Morning Nebraska and NTV News at Noon Weather Meteorologist. Tim was awarded his AMS Seal in November of 2007.
When Tim is not busy tracking storms and reporting the weather, he enjoys playing golf, as well as fishing and camping with his wife and friends. He also enjoys watching various sports including the NFL and MLB. Tim and his wife welcomed their first child, Abigail in January of 2008 and he is enjoying being a father.
